Memorandum #44; Excessive use of Slack and other Communication Tools

Memorandum #44
To: All Telework PH Employees
Cc: CIO Lyn
From: IT Department
Date: November 10, 2021
Re: Excessive usage of Slack and other Communication Tool
As we all know, communication is an important part of a team. It enables the team to become more agile, productive and achieve a strong work relationship at all levels.
While we understand the importance of communication, we also noticed that said communication tools are being used to a greater degree, from non-work-related topics to gossip between employees. This excessive use of communication tools may result in bullying/harassment and lowers the agent’s productivity.
With that being said, starting November 10th, 2021, we will implement a new policy regarding excessive usage of Slack and other Communication Tools.
To set forth this policy, The IT Department will implement a monitoring tool in company-owned computer units to monitor messages sent in Slack and Webmail. The IT Department will also closely monitor VPN usage and company-provided gmail accounts (ie. employees with twphosi suffix in gmail accounts) to ensure that these communication tools are being used properly.
Communication tools should not be used in:
- Sending personal or confidential information.
- Personal matters.
- Spread gossip about fellow employees.
- Sending pictures or screenshots with abusive/offensive captions.
- Sending messages that contain offensive, abusive and inappropriate language.
For any questions or clarifications, feel free to reach out via Slack to ITM Nelvyn or email IT@teleworkph.com during business hours.
